Well, I did it. OK, not all of it, but I got a good part of my apartment clean over the weekend. My whole bedroom/living-room/study/parlor/library is now 90% ship-shape. It's very exciting to have a totally clean floor, with not even a single book or sock on it. Now I just need to clean the kitchen and the landing and everything will be...well, as good as my crappy garret can be.

So while I was cleaning, especially under the futon, I came across a number of notebooks of various size, shape and degree of wear. I go through fits of keeping my thoughts in little notebooks, from time to time. I'm not doing it right now, although I might start again.

So, I thought that it might be fun to enter a page from one of these notebooks here and there...

"When she had been outside on a brisk Fall day and I would kiss her, she invariably tasted like Coca-Cola and fallen leaves and a library. It's that taste of someone else's mouth; smooth and warm and slightly acidic.

I miss that on cool Winter days in California."

And I should warn you. I've written some pretty awful poetry in these things to. Maybe I'll drag some of that out here in the future.
