» motivation

I'm so tired I could barely manage to log in. But I think I'll try to write a bit of something down.

I was talking to Iris today, a lot, and one of the topics that came up, as we sipped our margaritas, was the nature of Motivation.

Why did Mother Theresa help the people she helped? Why did Ghandi sacrifice so much for the people of India? I ued to think that what motivation always came down to was selfishness. I figured that at some level, Mother Theresa and Ghandi were acting as they did because it appeased their egos at some level.

What occured to me as I discussed this with Iris, and maybe it was her idea, I can't remember exactly, was that perhaps I simply cannot see the true, non-selfish, motivations of these people because I have not yet reached that place in my life where I can see other motivating factors.

Anyway. I'm about to fall alseep here and I don't even know if I'm making any sense.
